Online and in-person school registration for the 2023-24 school year is now OPEN for both new and existing families – this includes 3 and 4-year-old preschoolers; kindergarteners; and students entering grades 1-12.
Below are instructions for each age group. You can scroll down to find your child’s (ren) age. Please read the instructions completely before registering or re-enrolling your student.
If possible, please use a laptop or desktop computer to complete the online registration. We recommend using the web browsers Google Chrome or Firefox. Using a mobile phone to complete registration is not recommended.
3 & 4-Year-Old Preschool Registration (2023-24 School Year)Preschool Information |

Children enrolling in 3 & 4 Year Old Preschool need to register HERE. Online is the preferred way to register.
3 & 4 Year Old Preschool classes are first come, first serve. If your desired course is already full, add your child to the wait list. If there are several children on the wait list, additional class sections may be added. Turn in or mail a hard copy of your child’s physical and immunization records to the CM Elementary office (20 W. Broadway St, Colfax, IA 50054) by May 1, 2023. *Children must be age 3 by September 15, 2023 to enroll in 3-year-old preschool, or age 4 by September 15, 2023 to enroll in 4-year-old preschool. *A scholarship program may be available. This scholarship provides financial assistance for families who qualify to help cover the expense of 3 Year Old Preschool tuition. Application are available at the Elementary School Office. |
4-year-old Preschool Information |
The objective of our 4-year-old preschool program is to provide a quality education for children during the year(s) before entering kindergarten. To attend, children must be four years old by September 15, 2023 and do not need to live in the district. There are no fees to attend. Tuition is provided through the Iowa Statewide Voluntary Preschool Program.
All preschool programs have state licensed early childhood teachers. Students are engaged in activities and learning opportunities to grow socially, emotionally, physically and cognitively in the early learning environment. |
Kindergarten Information |
CMCSD also offers all-day kindergarten. Students will master reading, writing, math, science, and related arts skills that serve as the foundation of their learning for years to come. Student-focused cognitive and social development is also a part of each day. |
Registration for All Grades (2023-24 School Year)Preschool and K-12 In addition to our foundational preschool and kindergarten programs, students enrolling in grades 1-12 will develop and master skills in reading, writing, math, science, and related arts. Our curriculum is rich with hands-on experiences, field trips, technology, and interpersonal communication. High-quality educators and staff bring education to life, while also focused on student well-being. |
Registration Instructions for New Families to Colfax-Mingo: |
1. Complete the new student registration on Infinite Campus (our student data system). Enter all requested information and you will receive an email with next steps in the registration process. NOTE: Registration is NOT FINAL until all steps have been completed. |
2. As part of the registration process, you will be asked to provide proof of address, such as a lease/mortgage agreement or utility bill; proof of student’s age (birth document), and updated state health requirements. Please see the “Required Documents for Enrollment” for full details. |
3. The proof of address can be uploaded during the online registration process. All other required documents for enrollment should be delivered in-person or mailed to the CMCSD District Office, located at 1000 N. Walnut St., Colfax, IA 50054. Hours are 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. |

2. From the left-side menu, click More. |
3. Click Existing Student Registration and select 2023-2024 from the registration year drop down (if applicable). |
4. Click Existing Student Registration>Start. NOTE: Registration is not final until all steps have been completed. |
