C-M Finds Stride Early in Conference Match-Ups

The Colfax-Mingo varsity volleyball team is off to a decent start with a 2-2 record in the SICL conference.  The girls won their first two match-ups against BGM and HLV, and fought hard to take down Montezuma and Belle Plaine on the 28th and 29th, but fell short.  The girls have a home double header Tuesday night on October 6th against Lynnville-Sully and Keota before heading into the SICL conference tournament.  

The team has shown a lot of improvement since their first practice.  Coach Michelle Grant says, “We started out unsure of ourselves and then found our  We’ve had to battle through some injuries and setbacks since then, but we are ready to finish our conference schedule strong and be full strength for the conference tournament beginning October 12th.”  The girls are still working hard at every practice and are all looking forward to their next games on October 6th, and a special congratulations to Kyra Lester on getting her 1,000th assist!
