The CMDT started their season off with an 8 hour week long camp learning 3 routines for the 2020-2021 school year. They have learned State Pom and State Jazz to be performed at the ISDTA State Competition at Wells Fargo Arena in mid-November. They also learned a performance routine that will first be introduced on Coronation night. Six team members have chosen to compete a solo at the ISDTA State Solo Competition also in mid-November. (Seniors Morgan Beener and Rylie Walker, Sophomores Brooke Pease, Abi Rawlins, and Aubrey Rawlins, and Freshman Ashton Byal.)

With many multi-athlete dancers on the team, I was initially worried about the first week of school having 8 hours of dance practices alone. Having practice from 7-9 at night and turning around for 5:30 morning practice is not an easy chore. We take the gym time that we can get and these girls are so understanding and respectful about that. The global pandemic has not shaken this group of girls up one bit. They are taking these new challenges head on and rising above with grace and perseverance. As a coach, I couldn’t ask for a better group of girls to work with. My first year has been more enjoyable than I ever could’ve imagined!
