In accordance with the Iowa Code, all private instruction testing must be complete by May 1, 2018. All private instruction (home school) Iowa Assessments must be to Iowa Testing Programs for scoring on or before May 8, 2018.
Under the Private Instruction legislation, the only children that require an annual assessment are those whose parents elect to choose the Competent Private Instruction with Opt-In Reporting. However, parents of children who are part of your Home Schooling Assistance Program, CPI with a supervising teacher and CPI with Opt-Out Reporting may request an annual assessment (most likely Iowa Assessments). All annual assessments are free of cost to the home school parent.
