New Staff Professional Learning
New teachers gathered with their principals, instructional coaches, and the curriculum director to engage in learning about Professional Learning Communities and how they support continuous improvement for both students and staff. Teachers were able to virtually attend the PLC at Work Institute and have access to keynote and breakout sessions from leading experts on topics such as effective collaboration and culture, research-based instructional practices, creating quality assessments, and equity in grading practices. After viewing the sessions, the staff broke into groups to discuss how their new learning would be practically applied in their schools and classrooms. The new teachers are looking forward to sharing their knowledge with their teams as they become an integral part of striving toward excellence at Colfax-Mingo Schools.
