PREAMBLE

The Colfax-Mingo Community School District Hall of Fame is established to create a lasting tribute to those who have brought honor to themselves, our school, and our community.

The purpose of the Colfax-Mingo Community School District Hall of Fame is threefold (listed in no particular order):

  • To honor Colfax, Mingo and Colfax-Mingo School graduates who have distinguished themselves in life after high school;
  • To honor students who have accomplished extraordinary feats in extra-curricular activities during and after high school;
  • To honor those who have made significant contributions to Colfax-Mingo Community School District over a period of years.

SELECTION COMMITTEE

The Colfax-Mingo Community School District Hall of Fame selection committee is comprised of the following members:

  • Colfax-Mingo Activities Director, Chair
  • Superintendent of Schools
  • 1 at-large community member
  • 1 board member
  • 1 coaches/sponsor
  • 1 fine arts representative
  • CM Athletic Booster Representative

NOMINATIONS

Nominations can be made by any person or group, and will be received at any time. Once a valid nomination has been received by the committee, that individual (team/group) will remain in the nomination pool. For consideration to any given induction class, nominations must be received prior to the deadline established by the committee chairman. Nominees received after the deadline will not be considered until the following year.

Each year, the Hall of Fame selection committee will meet to review nominees. At a series of meetings, the committee will scrutinize and discuss the nominees and compile a list of finalists. After discussion of the finalists, the committee will use a voting procedure designed by the committee chair (or a procedure adopted by the majority of committee members present) to select a maximum of 5 nominees to become the Induction Class for that year. At the discretion of the selection committee, the induction class may exceed the maximum of 5 inductees. There is no minimum requirement for the number of inductees; the committee may select fewer than 5 inductees in any given year.
